Pool Tile Calcium Removal

Calcium scale doesn’t stain your tile. It sits on top of it, so once we remove it, your tile’s original color shows again.

Desert water leaves its minerals on the tile every time it evaporates at the waterline. Over a season that film hardens into a pale crust a brush won’t remove, and most owners assume the tile itself is ruined.

Usually it isn’t. With the right method for your tile, the calcium comes off and the tile underneath shows again. For calcium removal we typically lower the water about one foot below the tile line rather than draining the entire pool. If your pool has not been fully drained in three years or more, we recommend a full drain.
